ALLBRIGHT BACKYARD WEDDING

You’d think it would be a lot of pressure planning a wedding for someone in the industry. Instead, it was a creative match made in heaven.

Kathryn and Derek originally hired us for Florals and Event Management. To be honest, we were so excited to get Kathryn’s inquiry because we had been following her on Instagram for quite some time and were HUGE fans of her artwork. Kathryn designs amazing wood art and does beautiful wedding signage. After Kathryn and Derek gave wedding planning a try, they decided to bring us on for Full Service. We definitely could see why, she’s a full-time business owner and Derek was managing a construction company. We were so excited to jump right in!

Kathryn and Derek had their ceremony atop Rib Mountain which was absolutely gorgeous. Kathryn and her bridesmaids got ready at the shelter at Rib Mountain, which made it easy for them to walk right over to the wedding ceremony! We were able to make a floral install that they stood in to say their vows. The flower install being on the ground blended in well with the surrounding natural landscape. After the ceremony, guests were invited back over to the shelter where tables of champagne were in wait on the patio for guests to enjoy. After the champagne pour, guests got on a bus and headed over to the couple’s house, where the wedding took place.

Kathryn had rented a tent, Dance floor, tables and chairs from Everest Tent Rental. We couldn’t believe all the work that Kathryn and Derek put into their wedding. Saying their wedding was a labor of love is an understatement: they made two bars with handmade menus hanging above each one, they built a wooden bridge that ushered guests into the backyard bash, and Kathryn had made an acrylic seating chart and menus that topped each table. The couple had Thrive cater, which was fitting as it was one of their favorite restaurants. Thrive handcrafted each entree and even used asparagus right out of Derek and Kathryn’s garden. For the late-night snack they had a Mediterranean nacho bar, which is one of our Thrive Favorites! The evening ended with dancing all night long and there is no exaggeration when we say most guests were on the dance floor for most of the night! They sure know how to host a party!
