grayson’s 2nd birthday party

We’ve got a lot more up our sleeves than flawless weddings. Ask this happy 2 year old.

This event was one close to KaseStyle’s heart—a birthday party for Kasey’s son, Grayson. Kasey knew she wanted to go all out this year, as Gray didn’t get much of a celebration for his first birthday, due to the pandemic.

To start, Kasey decided on a theme that she knew Grayson was sure to love—Paw Patrol. Or as he calls it, “Pa pa tol”. She scoured Pinterest for inspiration and quickly got to work. The first thing Kasey knew she wanted was a wow factor. So, she decided on a white backdrop with a colorful balloon arch framing a table with a beautiful (and delicious) statement cake. She ordered all of the balloon components from Amazon, had the lookout tower image printed out at DigiCopy, and placed the cake order with Zest. And knowing she wanted the kids to have plenty of room to play, she decided to have the event at Rainbow Play Systems.

To round out the theme, she created Paw Patrol favor bags and name tags. She knew she wanted the favor bags to be reusable and the kids’ name tags laminated, in case they wanted to save them. Once all the elements were in order, she designed a stylish invite to send out and make it official!

On the day of, it took about an hour to get set. While Ac and Sons was kind enough to set up the tables and chairs (all in perfect kid-size), Kasey blew up Every. Single. Balloon. She placed them all into an arch and then thoughtfully arranged all the other elements, like the character cut-outs. The lookout tower had to be cut out by an Exacto knife, not that you would know it with Kasey’s expert skills!

Once the table was framed, it was time for the table’s focal point—the cake. Now, let’s talk about this cake. Not only was it the cutest cake ever seen, but it also had three layers of different, delicious flavors. The top layer was gluten-free lavender (!), the middle was carrot (!!), and the bottom was s’mores(!!!). This ensured that virtually everyone would be happy. And with children? That’s a tall order.

After it was all set, the party began. Kasey put out the ever-crowd-pleasing Sam’s Pizza and the families started pouring in. The kids were all so excited to come in and see their favorite TV characters, the full-size play areas, and all the colorful red, white, and blue balloons. And even though it was Grayson’s big day, it was so fun to watch each kid get to have a little something of their own to open. No one felt left out! And because of the delicious cake, that applied to the parents too.

The backdrop that Kasey created not only provided the walk-in wow factor that is needed for every (yes, every) event, but it also served as a photo backdrop for the families! That way every family got a chance for a cute keepsake of their own.

This was only Grayson’s second birthday, so the bar seems pretty high from now on! But KaseStyles isn’t one for backing down from an event-related challenge. We’ll be sure to keep you posted for what’s sure to be an epic third birthday next year.
