My Holiday Outfit: One Top Two Ways

If you have been following along you know I love pieces that are versatile and can be worn many different ways. This top was an excellent purchase. I had intended it to go with a pair of high-waisted black pants (going for a jump suit feel) but the pants weren’t as high as I had wanted them to be. I really like the ‘crop top’ trend, but I didn’t want to show too much skin.

I bought a tulle skirt off etsy after I had gone wedding dress shopping. The tulle skirts were just so much fun to try on! When Mike’s aunt said, “you should just get a tulle skirt,” as I joke, I thought, “What a good idea!” I didn’t even think of pairing it with the black crop top. Then once the top didn’t work with the black pants, and I saw the tulle skirt hanging in my closet, I figured I would give it a go. It looked lovely; I couldn’t wait to wear it.

My favorite Holiday Party was right around the corner. It’s an amazing event with a band in one room and DJ in the other. There is no dress code, some people show up in jeans and some people show up in gowns, either way it’s a fun time. It was the perfect opportunity to wear the crop top and tulle skirt combo. I got SO MANY compliments, I mean, more than I ever have on anything in my life. People kept complimenting my ‘dress’ not knowing it was actually two separate pieces. I felt like a million bucks!

Another event came up to go to that I wanted to wear the black top and tulle skirt, but knew that it would be many of the same people. I swapped out the tulle skirt, for my black maxi, and again the compliments rolled in. I love the two looks; they are going to be my go to for this holiday season!
