My Skincare Routine

I am not one of those people lucky enough to have been born with porcelain skin. I actually grew up with problem skin, so my skincare routine is very important to me. It is something that I have to invest in. If you can get away with washing your face with bar soap and get the results you want, more power to you! I however, have tried so many different lines I am glad I have finally found a line of skincare that I really like! Yes, it’s not cheap, but it’s not the most expensive either. I would say it’s reasonably priced and a little goes a long way. I was introduced to Dermologica by a friend of mine who is an aesthetician, she convinced me that investing in good skincare was more important than investing in good make-up. As you will read in my make-up routine, I do believe in investing in good make-up, but it all starts with taking good care of your skin.

I was a little leery about what would work for me, so I purchased their oily/normal skin kit . Their kits are super reasonable and come with everything you need to start a good skincare regime!

I start by using the precleanse. It smells delightful and is so relaxing! It also comes in a wipe form, I feel like the wipes don't smell as good, but they work really well to start getting your make-up off. I then use the special cleansing gel. I just took the plunge and recently purchased the clarisonic brush, and I am not going to lie, I am glad I did! I couldn't bring myself to do it at first, it's a little pricey, but my skin has never felt better!

After the special cleansing gel I use the microfoliant, (I don't use this everday.) Again, it's a little on the pricier side, but a little goes a long way and it makes your skin feel amazing! I finish by spraying on the multi-active toner, and using the intensive moisture balance moisturizer.

I read that you should start using anti-aging products once you hit twenty five. I am a few years behind, but I do have dark under eye circles, so I purchased multivitamin power firm. I can't bring myself to spend that kind of money on skin care just yet, but I this was worth the splurge!

I bought a large pack of white wash cloths so that I can use a fresh wash cloth each nigh. I reuse my towels to save on washes, but read that it's best for your skin if you dry off your face with a fresh wash cloth each night.
