Shop Local: Wilson and Willys
I went to Minneapolis and finally got to see the amazing store my best friend Anna helps run, called Wilson and Willys. It's a local shop on North Washington in Downton, focusing on local manufacturers. I just love the aesthetic of the store, its bright, open, and airy. Some of their stuff is pretty pricey, but it's all handmade, and local goods. There is also a gigantic dog that helps man the store, named Lamont. (So he's worth a visit all together!)
I tried on this Hackwith Design House dress and completely fell in love with it, it was so comfortable! I love that Wilson and Willysshowcases local artists like theHackwith Design House. Lisa Hackwith is by far an amazing #girlboss who in 2010 chose to focus solely on making clothes that she wanted to wear. Along with the dress I tried on a necklace manufactured by Another Featherbased out of Portland Oregon. It almost feels like you are visiting a gallery of art rather than a typical clothing store.
Where I live there aren't too many local boutiques such as Wilson and Willys, so I encourage, those of you who do, to support your local shops and learn about manufacturers in your area! Visiting Wilson and Willysopened me up to a side of Minneapolis that I had not known existed. It's important to support local shops and artists and help your neighborhood thrive!
